The Magpie Trout

The Magpie Trout

30.00

This sneaky little sprite is the bane to all anglers who like to fish small brooks with lures. Like most fish, the Magpie Trout is attracted to shiny objects. But in this case, the Magpie Trout likes to collect them. It has learned to snag lures around submerged roots and branches and when the line is broken (usually by the frustrated fisherman), the lure is brought back to a hoarding grotto under the riverbank. In 1973, after a serious drought, a Magpie Trout grotto was discovered, containing 25 lures, 17 beer caps, 16 dimes, 8 nickels and the knobs from the radio of a 1967 Mercury Cougar.
